CJSC Stroytransgaz Wins General Contract in Gazprom’s Largest Project

CJSC Stroytransgaz won the general contractor contract to build a 64.8 km section of the Bovanenkovo-Ukhta gas trunkline. Gazprom, the project’s investor, selected the company in an open tender closed on March 21.
Yamalgazinvest, a Gazprom subsidiary is the customer under the contract that is to be completed in Q3 2013.
"Bovanenkovo-Ukhta is a unique new generation gas transport system and Gazprom’s largest project,” Anton Rae, CJSC Stroytransgaz CEO said. “Our company had already taken part engaged in the project as a subcontractor. We then gained construction experience in extreme climate conditions, unprecedentedly unparalleled extreme conditions, to tell the truth. We are now happy to be awarded our first general contractor contract and to see our bid proposal found the best of all.”
Stroytransgaz has worked in Gazprom projects since 2009. The first contract received was to build a section of the Bovanenkovo-Ukhta pipeline.

The Bovanenkovo-Ukhta gas trunklines system is being built to deliver gas from the Yamal Peninsula, the next biggest gas province of Russia. The system spans over 2,400 km and will have an installed capacity of 140 bcm per year. The construction project, owned and unvested in by the Gazprom Group, began in 2007 and is due to finish in 2015. Phase 1 of the gas pipeline was completed in May 2012. In 2009 and 2010, CJSC Stroytransgaz worked as a subcontractor on one of the pipeline’s sections.
